Mary McDonnell
Mary Eileen McDonnell (born April 28th 1952) is an American film, stage, and television actress. She received Academy Award nominations for her performances as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and May-Alice Culhane in Passion Fish. McDonnell is most famous for her role as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day and President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. McDonnell was seen as Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's television series The Closer. She also played in Major Crimes, the spin-off show on TNT's network, as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
